Molly Karloff’s Bassist Nico Martin to Step Down

Big news from Molly Karloff HQ—our bassist, the brilliant Nico Martin, has decided to step away from the band. But before you panic, there’s no immediate rush—Nico’s sticking around until we find the perfect person to take his place, and will likely remain lurking in the background (so expect to see him at gigs for a good while yet).

It’s no secret that life in a band like ours can be full-on. With a packed schedule of gigs and recording sessions, it’s not for the faint-hearted (or anyone who values sleep!). Nico’s realised he can’t give it the level of commitment it needs to keep things firing on all cylinders, and we completely respect his decision to step back.

Nico says:
“It’s a privilege to be part of Molly Karloff, and I’m sad to be stepping down. The demands of the band are huge, and I know someone else will be able to give it everything it deserves. Until we find that person, I’m fully committed to making the transition as smooth as possible. I can’t wait to see what the band achieves next—I’ll always be around cheering them on!”

He’s been with us for just over a year, but from the moment he joined, Nico became part of the Molly Karloff family. His energy, humour, and stage presence will be hard to replace, but we know we’ll find someone who fits like a glove. Maybe we’ll just clone him. That way, we can keep him locked up until gig day, and nobody will be any the wiser!

We’re officially opening up auditions, so if you’ve got the bass skills, the attitude, and the ability to cope with Simon’s road trip playlists, we want to hear from you! Head to this link to apply.

For our fans, rest assured—Molly Karloff is here to stay. No gigs are being cancelled, and we’ve got plans to keep the riffs flowing and the energy high. Nico will be helping us find his successor, and we’re confident the right person is out there.

From all of us in the band: thank you, Nico. We’ll miss you being around all the time—but not so much that we won’t keep rocking on!
